Dr. Elias Uddin

Dr. Uddin is a tenure track Assistant Professor in Animal Science at the University of Connecticut (UConn) with a 60:40 research and teaching split appointment. Dr. Uddin loves  and enjoys teaching and mentoring both graduate and undergraduate students. He is very passionate to conduct research focusing on food systems sustainability and deal with real-world problems both locally and globally. UConn Profile

Current Lab Members

Rahat Ahmad Redoy

Rahat has moved to UConn in Fall-2023 to continue his PhD in Ruminant Nutrition.  Rahat initially joined my lab at South Dakota State University (SDSU) in Fall-2022 as a Graduate Research Assistant aiming to earn PhD in Dairy Science. He has completed his BS in Animal Husbandry (2016) and MS in Animal Nutrition (2018) from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh. His PhD research project will focus on evaluating dietary and feed additives-based enteric methane emission mitigation strategies using in-vivo experiment and holistic life cycle assessment.

Sadakatul Bari

Bari has started his PhD in Ruminant Nutrition here at UConn in Fall-2024. Previously, he completed Bachelor in Animal Husbandry and MS in Dairy Science from Bangladesh Agricultural University, where he also worked for several years as a full-time lecturer. 

His PhD research will focus on greenhouse gas mitigation strategies and holistic life cycle assessment modeling. He aims to explore the relationship between environmental footprint and farm economic performance, including potential trade-offs or synergies.

Tanvi Trehan

Tanvi, an undergraduate student at the University of Connecticut studying Animal Science on a Pre-Veterinary Track, is working as undergraduate researcher in our lab. She is part of a larger project and interested to understand producers’ perspective about the concept of sustainability for ruminant livestock industry and greenhouse gas mitigation strategies.
